EasyCare Sheep Society Sale - Skipton Auction Mart5 Sep 2020
The provisional date of Saturday 5th September 2020 is booked for the Skipton Sale
Results for the 2019 sale
John Garnett of Skipton’s senior ram, bred by James Howard of Holmfirth, sold to Mr Jackson of Blubberhouses near Otley for 310gns. The average price for senior rams was 240gns, no yearling rams were presented.
We had 57 females forward to sell. Smart 6 toothed ewes from John Bargh of Preston achieved 105gns sold to Mrs Jowett of Bentham, four toothed made 115gns again to Mrs Jowett and Mr Bargh’s yearlings, who had all raised a lamb this year made 128gns sold to Neil Greenwood of Trawden.
John Hobson of Bingley put 40 yearling ewes May/June 2018 born in the sale. They sold to 132gns to telephone bids from Mr George Hay, Insch, Aberdeenshire and to new flock starters Messrs Laycock of Silsden near Keighley.

TOP BREED PRICE FOR EASYCARE YEARLING RAM AT WORCESTER ON 21 SEPTEMBER 2019
Vendor Mr Richard Owen sold his double copy myostatin gene yearling ram to Messrs J Davies for 2,200 guineas, a breed record.
Yearling ewes from Jo Adams sold to £164 to G & MC Shepherd
Ewe lambs from Mr Roper sold to £88 to Mr J C Jeffrey
Full clearance with a strong trade. 2 rams from John Davies made 1,100gns and 1,350gns, both with myostatin genes. Smart untested rams achieved to 800gns.
New buyers attended to start new flocks along with the well established breeders.
The Society was pleased that all the stock presented was to a high standard as befits a Breed Society sale.
