The Carlisle Society Sale was rather stressful as there was a closure of the M6 Northbound at Junction 36 so a lot of people who were travelling from South of that junction endured a long and winding journey. To compound this there was a further problem below Lancaster so again, big problems for anyone trying to get to the sale.
The 10.30am sale start was delayed by half an hour but some vendors still failed to arrive. Buyers were also delayed so the sale started to a depleted audience.
In the face of adversity the trade was good and the Auctioneer did an excellent job in helping to accommodate the problems on the morning and in selling the stock.
